2018 REPRESENTATIVE TRIALS

Grafton Netball Association invites all players turning 11 to 17 years in 2018 and 21/u and Opens that would like to be considered for selection in the 2018 Grafton representative teams, to come along to Representative Trials.

Representative level netball is very demanding. A player must be prepared to dedicate herself to training and preparing for match play at a much higher level than club netball. This demands commitment, perseverance and willingness to put in the best possible effort at all times.

COMMITMENTS

All players selected in representative teams must attend training sessions each week after the team has been selected.

These training sessions will be twice a week on days determined by the Representative coaching Staff. Sessions will have a duration of    either 1 hr 30 min to 2 hours.

·All players must attend compulsory training carnivals; travel will be by either bus or private vehicle.

·Dates for these carnivals will be advised to all players at time of selection.

·All players selected in the team must attend State or State Age Championships for the entire three days of competition.

·State Championships are held over the long weekend in June.

·State Age Championships are held the first weekend of the June/

July school holidays.

The only reason a player will be excused from attendance at any

arranged competition, is injury or illness for which a doctor’s certificate must be produced. Any other reason for non-attendance must be approved by the GNA Executive Committee.

Should any player miss three training sessions without a written and valid reason that the GNA Executive deems acceptable, they will be automatically withdrawn from the team.

If a player in a Rep team becomes sick or injured to the extent that they may be unable to participate in the three days of State or State Age, the player must withdraw. If the player is able, they must produce a doctor’s certificate allowing them clearance to play.
